Cort unveils flagship X500 guitar for its re-vamped X Series

Cort Guitars has unveiled the new flagship model for its re-vamped X Series. The X500 features a neck-through design, EMG pickups and Floyd Rose tremolo.

The new guitar uses Swamp Ash, one of the most popular and widely-used woods for solid-body electric guitars and basses. It is light weight but has a surprisingly strong, tight and punchy sound with emphasis on the high-midrange.

Due to its ceramic magnets, the EMG 60 featured on the X500 has a full treble response and loads of output – great for distinct single-note solos. The 60 provides clarity and character to your guitar and works very well in the neck position. The model also features an EMG 81, which offers up detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut, and fluid sustain. The 60/81 combo is recommended for high and powerful tone.

Other specs include an ebony fretboard, 5PC Maple and Panga Panga neck, and D’Addario YB EXL 120 strings, and well as volume, tone and 3 way toggle switches.

The X500 comes in two finishes, Open Pore Trans Grey and Open Pore Jean Burst.
