Agent of Change: UK Music asks for feedback on London Plan to protect music venues

UK Music is urging people to make their voices heard in support of the London Plan to help save music venues in the capital.

The proposed Agent of Change principle means new property built near existing music venues will have to take responsibility to soundproof buildings.

“Please make sure your voice is heard by Friday 2 March & support Policy D12 in the London Plan. It creates a robust agent of change principle to protect music venues across the capital,” said UK Music on its official Twitter account.

PSNEurope reports that in recent years, complaints from people living in new residential builds have contributed to the closure of music venues in the UK, including Cardiff’s The Point in 2009 and Brighton venue The Blind Tiger Club in 2014.
