A brand new 1-day conference for students with a passion for music and the music business has launched. Appetite For Disruption will take place in Brighton on January 26th and MI Focus is the exciting event’s new media partner.
“It could be said that the rise in music piracy and the subsequent fall in the perceived value of music of the early naughties was down to prehistoric business models protected by equally prehistoric music bosses. If the music industry had paid more attention to the #NextGenerationInMusic and their consumption habits, everyone would have benefited,” say the event organisers.
“Appetite For Disruption is all about getting ahead of the game by listening to the next generation as well as challenging, educating and inspiring them!”
Here at MI Focus, we believe that the music business should always support up and coming talent and nurture the future of the industry. And Appetite For Disruption is the ideal place for young musicians to learn about topics such as A&R and getting signed, the future of streaming, traditional labels vs label services, saving grassroots music venues and much, much more.
There will be a host of top-class speakers on the day, including Beggars Group UK’s director of live Ruth Barlow, End Of The Road Festival MD Lauren Down, UK Music CEO Michael Dugher, Music Venue Trust’s strategic director Beverley Whitrick, plus many more.
Appetite For Disruption is free to attend and takes place between 9am and 5pm on Friday, January 26th at the Clarendon Centre, Brighton. Register now here!
